Husqvarna 350 - Chain and bar recomendations

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm looking for advice on which brand/type of chain and bar to go for, on my Husqvarna 350. It's currently running a 18" bar, but I'm feeling it's a bit under powered and that it would benefit from a 15" bar. It's mainly used (in order) for fire wood processing for my own use, clearing and felling small trees. I'm not sure whether to go for a narrow kerf with a semi chisel or something else. I'm sharpening with the Stihl easy file if that makes any difference.

Cheers, Jon.

As David says, would go for 15" bar and chain combo. Oregon for both is a good balance on price/quality, stick to 1.5 kerf as more robust for what you are doing. Personally I use full chisel 21LPX others prefer semi  21BPX when the wood is a bit dirtier, I would check these are compatable with your Stihl easyfile as I don't know as only use a file.

Hi,

thanks for the replys. Are Oregon bars generally considered better than Husqvarna bars? I was just looking at the Husqvarna 15" X-Force Pro @£27.80 vs Oregan Spedcuts and Versacuts @£33. Durability is also an important factor for me. Cheers.
