I have not used it to cut so thick wood. The wood i have been cutting was branches from 3cm (mostly 5cm) up to 10cm in diameter-  I was cutting down some fig-tree sprouts. Just to point out fig-trees are not so dense. Cutting this kind of branches gets the saw to overheat after maybe 5 minutes. And I do not press the saw against the branches- i let it cut without force. The battery i use is 6Ah and before it gets depleted i have to stop cutting several times and wait for the chainsaw to cool down in between the stops, otherwise i get the solid red light after each cut.
