Had a mare on the way to work today, full load, hill and black ice, and a trailer. Used the winch to get back down without a jacknife occuring. i snapped the hand brake cable as well.:sneaky2:

Last week we had my navara with my 10/5 tipping ifor half full with chip with a boxer skid steer on the back winching up a similar gradient!!! We also had the iveco daily tied to the trailer which was half full of chip towing the chipper!!!!

Snow and ice are a pain but the winch is mighty!!!!

Glad you got saved. I slid backwards down a hill doing a land clearing job in the ice, it's a scary feeling with 8 tires locked up, sliding backwards, juggling the steering wheel. The chipper jack knifed into a ditch off the side of the road, and almost hitting a large Hickory and destroying the rear of my chipper.

trailers and black ice are a bad mix, sounds like a cold wet job fixing the cable.. what did you fasten the winch to? Ed

For the first part i used a sycamore and then a small ash. :001_cool:
