i had a look at your website there dave, looking good. I see you have a timber trailer on the mog, is that yours? Why dont you just upgrade your mog mate, it seems you do mostly site clearances and woodland work, a lorry is only good for 1 thing but the mog will tick all your boxes and your not far from Alec prices either.

Cheers, althought the whole website is completely being re-done at the mo. Yeah its my trailer but will only carry 8 tonnes max, I am also doing work a lot further from base so would like something that will be faster and carry a lot more. I dont need 4wd truck all timber is forwarded to road side. You would be amazed what an awesome 2wd crane truck you can get for 10k - 15k a mog at that price would not be too good.

Biggest drawbar combo with an 18 tonner is a 20 tonne trailer, but only if the towing vehicle is capable.

Your best bet would be an existing drawbar rig, and then build the timber body on it. Rearmount crane obviously.

Wont be a cheap rig to put together though, why not go for a 32 tonne rigid, that should carry 19-20 tonnes on its own.

Thought about 32 tonner but for smaller clearance could just take the 18 tonner with better access for say a large domestic job.
