Got the Honda UMK 450 XE yesterday, appears to be a nice smooth strimmer. Seems ideal for running a blade.

The head that comes on it is a large Sugihara, which you reload with it on the machine, feed through the eyelets then wind it round, and it takes 3.3mm square line no bother.

It will get put to some proper work next week.

friends had the smaller honda for ages since Stihl 4stroke popped it's clogs pretty smooth must say don't quite like the Oregon head that use with tech flex cord with 4 pieces but give it credit did cope seems great on fuel also.

Nice and light i found it's not the one with fancy stepped off/up handle just bog standard horns.

The Romanian Bell End  that he had doing(fooking)things for him didn't manage to kill it!

how is the Honda going for you, thinking of purchasing......    Is proper 4 stroke easier to start than Stihl 4 mix engines

Not used a Stihl 4 mix so can't compare, but yes the little Honda 4 strokes are easy to start.

It's a great strimmer, the only downside is it's heavy

When I was buying it there wasn't really any videos of it properly working.

So when I got it I took it to a job, recorded it, and put it on youtube.

Weirdly the video has had 53,000 views, and every so often I will get an email ping through saying someone in some far away land has left a comment on this boring mundane video!

I've always found 4-strokes to be heavy for a given power output? Ive used both of Honda's GX25 and 35cc models but not this beast.  I do have a 555rxt.

- Husqvarna website says their 555rxt delivers 2.8kw. And its max rpm is 9,000

- Honda says their 450XE delivers 1.47 / 7,000 kw / rpm

I hope those are comparable, both machines weigh about 9kgs.

Personally I find 9kgs is some weight to be carrying around - if I run a few tanks through it I need a lie down!.  Id be interested to find out how you get along with the Honda.
