No shrink tubing in Teufelberger OP e2e hitch cord?

I recently acquired a Teufelberger Ocean Polyester e2e Replacement String and I noticed that the stitches in one of the eyes does not have the protective heat shrink tubing. My first thought was that someone forgot to put the shrink tubing in one of the eyes.

However, according to information from the supplier (they spoked with Teufelberger by phone) Teufelberger told them that “everything fine with this product, they made a change on this sling, instead of a shrink tube they reinforced the stitches with wax”.

Has anyone here has seen these hitch cords with a shrink tubing in only one of the eyes?

Yeah. I wouldn't worry about it. Whipping twine is normally waxed so you can melt it to set it in afterwards. In my experience, the shrink wrap is only there to display the information and identification information. Don't need it on both ends!
