Hi, we have an old-ish Patu 3-point-linkage stroke delimber and i found this on the net

http://www.machinerie.com/ManuelOperateur/patu/40lf.pdf

and if you go to page 8 it says about a splitting knife

Use of the firewood splitter:

- Mount the boom and the splitting knife.

- Adjust the firewood length.

- If the limbs are not very heavy, delimbing and splitting can be made simultaneously. If the limbs are too heavy, open the jaws and make a separate splitting movement.

The splitting power is usually sufficient for stems with about 25 cm ( 10" ) diameter.

has anyone had any expirence with this, or know anything more about this?

Thanks

Flaming-ace.

I am interested to hear you use a stroke processor, I have seen various films of them on youtube and occasionally seen one on ebay. How do you rate them? Are they reliable?

I like the idea of having the processed logs in a pile so they can be picked up in one lift with a grapple. How many hp is needed?

Thanks

John
