Posch bench saw

Yep, the posch gear is very well built but is quite expensive compared to other brands.

I used to run a Hakki Pilke Eagle before I bought a processor and found that I prefered the Eagle to the Japa one (mailny beacause I found working that way round more comfortable than anything else).

There are a couple I've used which I found to be hard work - one being the Technorton we had at Birdsall (was very over engineered, heavy to use all day and also because of the design of the trough it was quite hard to shove big bits along) and the other being the Ryetec one. I found the guard was very much in the way all the time (so ran the risk of being removed) and also the cutting action didn't feel very natural.

I'd tend to be wary of a flat deck saw unless it has a sliding action with a clamp as these tend to snatch and throw the logs if you don't concentrate (see comments from others above). IME the safest ones tend to be the tilting table type but you do still need to watch out for small diameter dead straight bits snatching (as you would with any circular saw) if you try and saw too quickly.

There are a couple of videos of the tiliting table ones on our website http://www.alpinetractors.com if that helps visualise it any better.
