Im sure if you took some end weight off before the snow kicks in you could get many more years out of the limb could also tether with bracing if there targets below

Hope so, yes. Will investigate. I agree take some weight off and see how it is. Bracing might be the way as the tree is in a very frequented area, so don't want any hazards.
