Women get together before the baby is born and 'shower' the expecting mother with gifts and generally have a laugh for a few hours. We where forced by friends and family to have one for our 23 month and 5 month old.Thankfully I was off-shore at the time. 

 

Nice Cake Stands Steve. Ive seen people cut a letterbox type notch out of a log with a Chainsaw and thread a cargo strap though the hole. Mount and fasten to a Bandsaw Mill and take off perfectly flat and easily sanded cookies. Not sure how you'd stop the cracking and splitting though?
