If you're self emloyed, it's not arbs you need to impress, it's the clients.

So why are you so angry with us arbs? - it's not our fault.

:confused1:

That was old news arb culture!

I get cheesed off when people start giving me a hard time, who likes it?:001_tt2:

its all good though, keeps the ego in check and is always educational, and theres a lot to be said for that.

One day i may be more laid back, and just laugh it off, but im not perfect and thats always going to be "a work in progress"

Oh and lastly, whos trying to impress anyone?

I am simply here to play chess with better players than myself, that is after all how one improves ones game, is it not?

in that statement alone, I would suggest it hardly implies my need to impress. I would need insecurity in my abilities, and I have none, i am lacking in certain areas but not for a lack of capacity, just practice and oportunity.

as for self employed, only on a weekend, I can but dream of going indipendant again

Sorry Hama, I didn't notice the date on the thread.

But I'm not trying to play chess with anyone. I do know some people are wanting to impress, and some are wanting to share, and some are wanting to learn, and some are probably wanting to do all three etc..

Personally, I'm just a bit of a geek, and I enjoy the opportunity to talk about the things which interest me - one of which is trees.

Just out of curiosity Hama, what's stopping you going self employed?

well my financial commitments mean i have to rely on a wage, so its a big step, going to ease myself into it probably, doing a bit of VTA survey BS5837 type stuff along with the usual freelance climbing which has been non existant of late.

I would sort of prefer a decent job at a firm that i can rely on to push me and support me a bit unlike my curent position, where I am "noddy" tea boy!

Next time I'm in your part of the world I'll send you a PM. We could meet up, and I might be able to give you some pointers if you're interested.

I'm sure you'll get to where you want to be on your own, but it might be a bit easier and quicker with some insights from someone who's already had to fight and work their way through.

If you're at the AA conference in September I might see you there?

Well, this week i have met rather a lot of chtty trees, but these images come to you via a job we was on today.

i will say nothing regarding the declining of our request for consent to prune, suffice to say that it was declined, the universal spec they gave us for allowance was "lift by 3 metres" and that was IT, no mention of why it had been declined, nor explanation of the spec. I will be posting a lot of images for this tree, so hold fire for a bit, till you have seen this in all its glory, shall be maybe four posts of five images a piece, then lets talk VTA and why an assitant TO/planing department representative was allowed to "inspect" and why should this person have the right to decline?:sneaky2:
