Auto stress breaking is caused by the tacho being solid mounted. The vibration kills it. A new tacho is about £180, and a set of simple rubber mounts solves the problem.

what sort of age is it ? they swapped about between LOR and Electronic solutions for the stress controls, the LOR ones didnt like damp they would mist up and if its a deutz engine they used to suffer from vibration as well as did ignition boxes causing wiring trouble as the wires would vibrate off inside the box

Many thanks for the advice and help! Just one more reason why I love Arbtalk. :alberteinstein: I think its an older model early 90's. Does anyone know where I can get the parts?

What parts? Knives and anvils from Saturn machine knives, engine parts from whichever manufacturer, any hydraulic components from VHS in Sheffield, anything else is blacksmith repairable..

its a 2000 model.
