yeah, I have seen that vid.
only 10' agree about farm jack, another accident waiting to happen at the height of the truck deck.
I guess if you are planning on doing this alot a meaty h bar welded up at the back of your truck with a block or chain hoist on would give you the required lift then you could move the chain down the log after its resting on the truck back and shuffle it on like that.

the more I think about it the better it seems just doing it in the wood.

A bit like sex. You may think about spicing it up by doing it on the stairs but when push comes to pull you can’t beat the old bed
