Fiberglass panel repair

Managed to roll my dumper today, and damaged the side cowling

Any ideas on how to repair this myself? I know the paint code, but it looks like it needs some sort of filler first!

If its just surface damage, all you need is some gel coat.  If you have damaged the underlying fibreglass you will need fibreglass matting as well but the repair is more difficult to do well.

Is that something a motorist place will stock?

More likely to get it from a boatyard although some car part factors may have it.  Note that you will need gel coat and the appropriate orange pigment for your repair.  You will also need acetone to get it nice and clean.  It needs to be applied in a well ventilated area.  There are likely to be lots of videos on gel coat repairs on Youtube that will steer you in the right direction.

Thanks for that. Found a kit online for my paint code, and there is a helpful 20min video to boot! £15
