Mallions are pretty strong.  I wouldn't be concerned 

 

And yes, you could anchor it at the base of the same tree even, then hook on a throwline at the end of the day.  You would need 2 ropes then however.

Sounds like a plan - thank you for your help here. This is becoming a bit of a home made attempt, but if the loads add up within the SWL then no problems I guess!!
