Stihl 200t broken screws

As the pictures shows I have 2 broken off screws that go into the cylinder that will need to be tapped out. Been told by someone that knows far more than me that not to worry about it because it shouldn’t cause to many issues. Is that correct ?

Also how much of a job would it be to get them tapped out ? My guess is a pig of a job but thought I’d ask IMG_0671.jpgIMG_0672.jpg

You would need to remove the top handle and fuel tank. The biggest issue with removing them is keeping the drill central to the broken screw and not drifting off in to the softer alloy.

It won't be great leaving it like it is but the saw will still function OK and be safe. The lack or screws may put stress on the remaining ones and these could break!

You may be able to cut a slot in the screw with a Dremel cut off bit causing little damage to the alloy and use a screwdriver on them. Just depends on how flush with the flats the broken screw is.

Luckily I'm an idiot and not as bad as first thought as just had another play. The bolt by the exhaust had so much crap built up it was solid hence when putting in a bolt it wouldn't thread in. All cleaned out now and a new bolt has gone in.

Around the other bolt the casing had moved which I presume is where there has been a vacated bolt ? Anyway 2 pair of hands and the case is realined and the bolts in ??
