I thought for short term hire, ie week or less, you didnt need an O licence.

 

To answer your first question, you would need to apply for a normal licence, inc operating centre and inspection arrangements, even though you dont run a vehicle yourself.

 

Patrick, it depends how big your drive is. If you have a big detached house with lots of offroad parking and no close neighbours, then you will probably get it. If you have a suburban semi and the drive is just big enough to squeeze the truck onto, probably not. The only way to find out is to apply.
