Stump grinding, do you take away the grindings or backfill?

What do you do with grindings from you work?  I usually try and leave on site wherever possible. Sometimes though there is just too much.  Especially with trees like Poplar.  Removing the spoil and backfilling can be more time consuming that grinding the stump itself.

If you take grindings away do you mix them in with the chip pile or store separately?

Every jobs different but I try to convince the customer to let us backfill.  Removing and reinstating is a ball ache even if there is extra money for it.  Unless if course you have lads to do it for you, in which case i'd probably go for the hard sell every time ?
