Small chipper help

for a professional use of a small size machine with the 420cc size ~13hp engine, what would you choose between:

a petrol and a diesel engine and why ?

for me the interest goes with:

1.performance

2.reliability

3.fuel consumption

The input I had so far is that the diesel is lower in fuel consumption, lower in performance and more expensive on the parts and any repair vs the petrol engine. Also the diesel has more vibrations, so more demanding on the machine's body.

Chip in here please!

I've got the JoBeau M400 and leave it on the trailer throughout jobs. Had the M400 for about 4/5 years and we had done some big jobs with it and the portability of it can make chipping on site so much easier.

It's been reliable because of the Honda GX630 engine and it packs a punch on power. The issues I've had though are design flaws with the machine itself which I've had to resolve myself. Having said that though I'd buy another because I know how to repair the machine and what to expect. Knives are expensive at £260 a pair, double sided.

how much fuel consumption you have with that engine ? ok I know, it depends on more factors, but lets see an average !

is it as Honda says:

6.7 L/hr - 3 600 rpm

what is the rpm you normally use ? ok, again it depends on many factors, but if you can summarize it.

I start to think that an hour meter and a rpm meter are quite useful and cheap..
