Granberg Ultimate Alaskan Chainsaw Mill - what are your thoughts for first mill?

would it stretch to mill the big plane i've posted pictures of on other thread. (about 350 cm circumference)

if so what saw and bars would you recommend (can i use a ms660 i have?)

any recommendations would be gratefully received !

Hi Jo,
I’ve used the ultimate mill a few times now, got it last month.
Very happy with it. Best to speak with Rob Dyer at Chainsawbars really.
As far as I’m aware the longest bar you can get for 661 is 42” lo pro, I may be wrong mind. That will give you 36” within the mill.

I think the kit can potentially extend to 60” but you only get one set of extension brackets in the kit, you’d have to buy an extra set to use all the rails together. One thing to note, in Rob’s video he fitted the rail extension at the nose end. I fitted the extension at the power head end as it gives more flexibility/allowances for using different bar lengths, similar to the older style Alaskan mills.
