Hi,

i,m after a bit of advice regarding my husqvarna 135. When I last used and cleaned it, I noticed that the clutch was a bit discoloured. The saw had been working fine, it was cutting well and there had been no sign that the clutch was slipping. The saw is only used for cutting firewood - and apart from getting trapped once or twice has never been run hard.

i've attached a couple of photos.

should I be worried? Does it / will it need a new clutch?

many thanks

Paul

Don't think you have anything to worry about, these things do get hot in use.

The fact that you haven't run it hard could be a contributing factor though, as these need revs to make the clutch bite properly.  ;)

If you trap the chain with the revs on it soon warms up as it's metal to metal, get it flat out before you touch it to the wood and keep it flat out till it goes through. A bit of bluing won't hurt it.

Thank you both, that's very reassuring.

i'll make sure it's flat out before I start to cut and try not to get it trapped!

thanks

Paul
