2wd pick ups

Does anyone run a 2wd drive pick up? Good points? Bad points?

Not really sure of the point, If it is only 2wd why not a transit tipper?

It's going to be my wife using it as well so a tipper wpuld be a bit big.

Oh, Well It will probably suffice for small/medium work, but obviously it would not be great off road and I am not sure If the 2wd would change the towing capability.

What sort of Jobs are you thinking over using it for?

I mainly climb for other people and get some jobs of my own. Would do for towing the chipper i hire. Couldnt justify buying a transit tipper at this stage.

If you are mainly just climbing, with the just the occasional heavy tow, then It should work just fine.

Dont have one myself but can see the appeal of them in certain situations. Growing up in the eighties i can always remember the farmers and milkmen running about in either ford P100's / pug 504's / vw caddy's. I've always had a little soft spot for the bedford rascal type pickup.

 

Does anyone actually make a proper car derived pickup any more ?

Need to think about security though. Wouldnt a van be a better option due to the security risks.
