To be honest I would have it done but I'm just not confident about doing it my self. Any volunteers [emoji23]

It really is as simple as taking the exhaust off, drilling some holes and sticking it back on.

I presume the spark mesh is off the saw already? If not, start there (says how in the manual but it's just one screw iirc)

Not much to go wrong really. If you start with just three 8mm holes through the baffle, stick it back on, use it a while, then evaluate whether you think it's better or not?

Then drill a few more, or not.

Brilliant. Thanks. The spark arrester is still here. Does it pay dividend to take that off?

Yes.

The spark arrestor restricts flow, especially when it gets blocked with soot and other carbon build up.

In our climes there's not really a fire hazard problem from the occasional spark that may come out.

If you don't want to do it contact petemate on here . He will cut the exhaust can open around the seam , remove the baffle plate and make a neat job of welding it back together . Some other " secret " tweeks as well .
