Thanks Tony, dont think I need to do both then!

Well whilst the two qualification share a framework level, they're not exactly equal - specifically the ISA cert arb has the advantage of a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirement which allows you to show a commitment for ongoing progression to any future employers.

If you've passed the RFS course - its an easy step onward which bags you the CPD and a wider recognition throughout the wider international industry should you wish to travel and work.

learn as much as you can evergreen on the job and in the class room.

we are holding the first UK european tree worker exam 19/20 of this month. that maps strait over to the isa exam, the two are very similar but do focus on differing topics to the rfs.

Certified arborist is a useful ticket if you want to work anywhere but the UK. I tried to register for a risk assessment training course in Canada this year and they wouldn't let me on it because I'm not a certified arborist.

They wouldn't recognise my UK level 7 qualification, QTRA or anything else. It seems officious but there you have it.
