I guess I'm about 3/4 of the way to having replaced all my old kit that I got rid of 7-8+ years ago...

A few more little bits to get, and a few more to try before I buy (hopefully Wednesday I'll get to F R Jones to play) and I'll be ready.

Then its on to the one thing I really should have done 20 odd years back... getting some certs'.

Well, I'm pretty much kitted out for SRT (minimalist) Harness, bina's, friction ropes, 45mtr double braid, 2x flip line, cambium saver, Hitch climber pulley, couple of re-route (small) pulleys, few positioning type ropes (3,5 and 7 mtr), spikes, figure 8, belay thingy :001_smile: type C trousers (Oregon). helmet with visor and ear protectors, yellow hi vis shades, stihl gloves...

Saw is just a Makita 3500 40cm bar, awaiting back up Stein hand saw...

Lowering wise, Large ISC portawrap, straps, dead eyes x 2 (19mm) large ISC pulley, 3 heavy duty (40kn +) bina's, 5 mid bina's (25kn) and a shed load of ropes for lowering. (but also have 100 odd meters of three strand from a couple of years back in a canvas sack that may be used over natural crouches)

ps, the reason I went "LARGE" on the portawrap and pulley, is not because I'll be chunking down huge trees, it's because I found them going cheap:001_tt2:

Still awaiting a few bits, and need to check out some boots... find out if any of them will fit me.

Well thanks to you guys all ranting about Meindl Airstream boots, I have to find a subtle way of telling the missus that the boots I got, cost nearly twice as much as the ones I went to see... Thanks F R Jones, great service. (and I thought walking into a fishing tackle shop with a credit card was stupid... its got nothing on a decent arb shop) To be fair, these were one of only three boots that actually felt like they were designed for feet to go in out of all those on display, all three were going to come out roughly the same price, one wasn't waterproof, and given the glowing reviews I've read on here for the Meindl Airstream, they were really the only choice.

Hopefully the post man will drop off the last bit I'm waiting on (till I sit looking at videos online and checking out others set ups) which is courtesy of Mr Earp... Cheers fella. and I'll be playing this weekend with a few easy climbs up my Euc tree out the back.:withstupid::clap:

Cheers Dan... all kit together now, so just a case of getting back up trees now with the new kit and seeing how it fares. Got a bit of pruning planed to get me back into the habit of trusting the kit. Then next weekend I'm off fishing, then a clear run at this Euc and start getting it down. Nice and slow till I feel like I'm getting the feel back.

Cheers to all the guys on here that have stirred up the old saw and climbing buzz through their chat and videos. Only been on here a month, and have learnt so much that in previous years wouldn't have even occurred to me.

I'll get some pics up of the Euc at the weekend, and keep you all informed as to how its going.
