Hi everyone, im looking at doing the FdSc Arboriculture on-line degree through Myerscough college, and i want to find some things out about it before i decide to do it, and i know some of you guys have done the course. -How long do you spend per day doing the work? -How does the videoconferencing part of the course work? will i have to get a camera?? -And do employers value an online degree in the industry as much as a normall one? Any help or tips would be much appriciated, Thanks!!

Hi people, I am moving to Stavanger in Norway for at least three months this summer (heading out mid june). I am moving to Stavanger because I have accommodation sorted there (girlfriend's parents ) Im a climber and consultant with approximately 3/4 years experience in England and Australia. I have the usual tickets and an Honors Degree in Arboriculture. Does anyone have or know of any useful contacts in the Stavanger area? Are there any obvious differences between the Arb scene in the UK and Norway? Finally, Whats the word for Arborist in Norwegian??? Im grateful for any info on the matter. Regards, Joel Ashton

Hi all, Ive been at university now for almost 1 year, studying Forestry and Woodland Management, the course runs for 3 years. I love tree sugery and forestry and thought would be a good idea to get a university degree under my belt along with my college qualifications. However, i havent enjoyed any of my first year, struggle with all the work and have faild a few assignments. i much prefer just being at home and earing money instead of building up all this debt for a degree i may not enjoy or feel it being worthwhile. Im thinking of quitting if i complete this first year or just stuggle through 2 more years which i dont like the sound of. Any advice on this matter would help me out alot! cheers

Hi everyone, I was recently granted a conditional place on an NVQ level 2 apprenticeship at HCT, but find myself lacking the funding due to having earned myself a Ba. Degree (in an unrelated industry). Any advise on this matter would be greatly appreciated. (I'm willing to relocate nation wide, and have some experience + CS30 and 31.) Thanks. -T.K.Brayford
