  2. Just getting into carving. It's really inspirational.
  3. Hi folks. Newby and amateur here. We have a small (1.5 acre) slice of heaven with about 80 trees on it. Mostly beech and poplar but some oak etc. We have some tall stumps (3-4 ft) from removed trees. I'm itching to learn carving. I grew up seeing a lot of it. Love it. I've read a bunch online, YouTubed, read a couple intro books and even watched that Netflix show, but here's a question I can't find an answer to. How long do I have to complete my sculpture? I'm sure it depends on weather, wood etc. First one will be in oak. Red oak I think. If I start it, drop it for a couple months for time conflicts, etc. am I alright? Or am I asking for trouble? Thanks for any perspective. Hoping I can make time to get into this and not have to wait 20 years for retirement :)
