I am not that concerned about the chip size and uniformity. The only downside having smaller chips is this may slow down the chipping. My main problem with GL&D was the size, as I am height limited, but they definitely look good.

Wow, thanks for sharing.. I have original chineese manual for SZ130J, that is a bamboo chipper, but there is nothing about making a pellet chip dust... Here is a comparison of chips from my hand towed chipper on the right and SZ130 (with screen and relatively high feed speed) on the left. I would not consider it a dust, but is definitely smaller. My gardener is happy that this is better for perenials than the larger ones. I can blow it 1-2m away to the trailer with tarpaulin preventing the wind. Anyway it would be interesting to understand how to make it produce large chips, if possible.

I saw those first chippers with various brands, it's hard to estimate who is the real manufacturer until you see this. I also did not want to maintain two engines and I think the center of gravity is quite high - not good for transport. While two engines may be advantage in case there is a failure on chipping engine, you can still move the machine, still you need to fill two tanks, change two engine oils... If I may publish a list of "similar" tracked chippers with no-stress and "notmadeinchina" then you may check: Eliet super prof cross country Rabaud vegetor 110C https://cippatore.com/biotrituratore.htm GL&D Titan Pro Tracked Hydrostatic (wo no-stress) GL&D Titan Super Tracked Bio Chipper but be prepared for a different price level, different sizes and different construction compared to OHASHI or this noname SZ130. IMHO this is also branded "noname" (does not have a no-stress): Titan Pro Tracked 15HP Petrol Wood Chipper 100mm Capacity WWW.TITAN-PRO.CO.UK Combining our beloved Beaver wood chipper with a tracked base combines both our best ever garden chipper with an incredible increase in mobilty. Was chipping a large thuja (this is a pain for any chipper), so perfect "test" to remove the grill (screen with 40mm holes) as with it the dispatch was clogging a lot. It helped to avoid the clogging most of the time, but the size of the chips did not increased significantly (there were larger chips, but not overall). Also this is not recommended so far as it may cause that large chunk of the wood gets into dispatch fan causing some damage. Chipper was not able to "consume" more than 3" of this kind of wood while previously chipping many apple tree branches was going up to 4" without issues. The funny thing that happen was, that after a few hours, the RPM started to show completely insane values and the no-stress obviously stopped working without correct RPMs, becoming a "stress" control (manually stopping and starting the feed). When I got back I found one grounding wire screw got loose, causing this strange behaviour.

I'd be the first to support the local production, but there is nothing like that and made in china is everywhere, even my bosch pro pruners are made in china, which was quite disappointing to me. Never mind I came today to report I had a first track derail on machine - but was my fault as I was turning on the big gravel and the stones got into the track derailing the idle wheel. I was lucky enough to load/unload the chipper to/from the trailer with derailed idle wheel and fixing this in the garage. At least I was forced to find the proper tension for track - it's 15-20mm bottom track slack from the roller. Finding this I think my tracks come with too much tension on them.

Yes, its 13hp, the branch that was in there is cca 10cm diameter (4"). but you are right the end of the branch was thinner.... It can have a higher feed speed, but for this diameter it's having problem to discharge the chips and clogs because the RPMs slows down too much (nostress stops feeding but RPM drop anyway) - its visible on the video. I may try to fine-tune the nostress RPM low limits (its possible to set on this machine). I am yet to try to remove the internal grill...

Did some more search and this is a common problem, do not understand how HQ can ignore it for such a long time.. Husqvarna combi can - fuel spout | Arborist, Chainsaw & Tree Work Forum ARBORISTSITE.COM Hello, About a year ago I bought a Husqvarna combi can 5+2.5L. Last summer it worked great and was really satisfied with it. This year, after some 5 months of not... ... I've wanted to buy the 15l can from HQ (580 75 45‑01) but this really makes me to think twice.

For many years I am using this canister (5807542-01) it's design is great, except.. well the automatic spouts (that should be the main advantage of this canister).... I have very early version of it - the first spouts I had the nut had cracked after a while - they were grey plastic. I've changed the nut from a non-automatic spout (black plastic), but it was not easy as it seems everything is pressed in and can not be disassembled, then the nuts seems to stop cracking. Then the auto oil spout stopped to pop out, making me angry every time I was filling the oil, so I changed it for a non-auto one. After some time the same thing happened to gas spout. I found this video of a man complaining a fixing the same thing Those spouts are pretty expensive - actually instead buying both new, it's better to buy a complete canister. Now my question is - does the new spouts fix this issue or husqvarna is trying to rob us with this? Are there any better options with automatic spouts?
-
I have now few hours on the clock, still improving the thing - I counted with that - do not want to buy expensive machine that I have to customize (welding holders etc.). So far after my modifications to the dispatch, it's much better. Still can not make it to produce larger chips, but the drum is combined - blades + hammers, so this is maybe why. I've added a video https://www.lowlevel.cz/log/files/SZ130/VID_20251101_120505.mp4 So far it's working and saving effort to make smaller branches and feed every piece manually but hey, the larger branches it can consume are heavy too... I am yet planning to add a tow hitch to that so I can tow the cart or bag with it instead doing it myself.

Spoiler: This is chinese chipper - problems to be expected. I needed a chipper that has a no-stress as I am bit tired (especially my shoulders) of feeding the branches to chipper by hand, I need to get often to tight spaces or places with wet soft or sloppy terrain, thus any kind of self propeled machine would be great, tracks preferred. However with such a machine a weight gets up and price too... this one seems cheaper, but the time will show if this was a good choice. Here is my journey with this machine: lowlevel - na nejnižší úrovni - SZ130 wood chipper WWW.LOWLEVEL.CZ I am not yet very far with this to have a final conclusion. I've just started with it and still hope it will pay off.

Thanks a lot. I've found some older online manual pdf https://www.echo-usa.com/getattachment/3c17b4c8-fea2-4869-a000-e878b9fd3809/filev1_ in the meantime, there was nothing about IPX4, but warning "Do not expose to rain / water", while newer seems to state this is IPX4. Echo 56V 12" Chainsaw Bar & Chain 50.4V 2.5Ah Battery Powered Kit DCS-2500T-12R1 from Echo - Acme Tools WWW.ACMETOOLS.COM Echo 56V 12" Chainsaw Bar & Chain 50.4V 2.5Ah Battery Powered Kit - DCS-2500T-12R1 from Echo One another thing that confuses me is that this picture says max 25cm/10" bar... while many sellers state this has 12" bar. Are there more version of this saw? I know there are 3/8" ad 1/4" - do they differ in max bar length? I know its subject to change, but still confusing.

Does anybody have an experience how ECHO DCS-2500T handles moisture/light rain/snow? HQ T540i XP declares IPX4, but I did not found anything for Echo. I like the Echo ergonomy and weigth, but it seems the most electric saws do not like wet conditions...

We have a more than 200yr old oak here, that was hit by lighning two days ago. It seems one of the main branches was hit, there is a lighning path on that branch without bark 10cm wide stripped down to branching, but the main trunk is untouched. I have to do a closer inspection yet, but I would welcome any experiences with that and what to do next. The oak is pretty healthy - we did a load testing and tomography few month ago on that tree. I understand a general effects of lighting on the trees, just would like to hear a real life experience.

I am using HQ T536 LiXP (now renamed to T535i) for more than 5y, I've bought other equipment from HQ with the same batteries. I do almost everything including falling of smaller trees with T536 - the lack of fumes, vibrations and noise + no need to pull-start saves (my) energy. I dropped the saw few times, bought a replacement cover that broke and replaced myself - the repairs on electric is much easier than gas powered (no oil, gas, less parts, much cleaner work). There are some drawbacks compared to gas - size of the chain, power is still not the same, when overloaded it stops and requires re-pushing the "gas" - this is extremely annoying during backcuts, but one can learn to live with that. Some of my complains should be addressed with T540i. However this month I met a weak point - a single point of failure - the charger. For some reason the HQ is out of stock for chargers and batteries here, my charger broke and suddenly all my equipment was useless. This is something that is still (very) unlikely with gas powered eq. From that time on I am considering at least a car charger as a backup. The other problem is, that you are locked to one brand... I was looking into switching to Stihl, but Stihl has some delay in battery powered things compared to HQ. They finally made something to compete HQ T line - the MSA 220 TC-O but it is still nowhere to buy. I am also confused by their increased number of battery powered lines of equipment (AP, AI, AS, AK) - this is really a mess. HQ had the same battery format up to recent, when they introduced a tools that may work on full power only with premium battery lines, but you should be able to run all batteries in all equipment and chargers. However this may change too...

No, all batteries are doing the same in this QC330, new QC250 charges them just fine. I suspect the thermal sensor in the charger got crazy.
