  1. Hello, I am looking for farmers or other land owners who may have fallen trees of less than 60 cm in diameter on their land and which they don't mind me clearing in or around Oxfordshire. I would be willing to pay a small access fee for the priviledge and it would help manage the land too.. I have my own chainsaw, axe and wheelbarrow for the job, so they're wouldn't be any heavy machinery going over the land. I look forward to hearing from you in advance. Regards, Theo
  2. Hi, If anyone knows of felled trees in the Oxfordshire area that have just been left on the ground, please let me know. Regards, Theo
  3. Hello, I am looking to buy or perhaps pay a daily admission charge to remove fallen trees from landowners land in Oxfordshire area (maybe farmers or woodland owners). If you or anyone else you know have fallen trees that are in reasonable condition and are reasonably accessible on their land, please contact me on here and we can discuss it further. Regards, Theo
  4. Hello, I am looking for felled trees no more than 70cm in diameter in Oxfordshire and the surrounding area and within 100 metres of parking. If you or someone you know has felled trees on their land and wouldn't mind me collecting the landowners permission, then please let me know. There may be a deal that can be done for doing so. Hello, If you are looking to buy seasoned wood logs for winter, then I have limited stocks available now at £100/builders bag (bag measures 0.8m cubed). All logs are sourced from mature trees felled due to the risk they posed to road users. Logs have been sawn and split last March using a battery powered chainsaw and a splitting maul to produce zero carbon emissions in the cutting and splitting process. Maximum logs lengths measure 14" or 31cms with the vast majority under to meet most fire grate widths. I can also fill bags with smaller logs for firepits and chimeneas if desired. Deliveries and help offloading can be made to anywhere within a 15 mile journey of Eynsham, Oxfordshire free of charge. Beyond a 15 mile journey, there is a charge of £1 per mile. Please contact me by private message I will get back to you. Theo

  10. I've used it for roughly the same time and had one delivery, so don't be too jaded. From this one time, I would say that it is important to be flexible about delivery and to make the delivery as easy as possible for the arboriculturists.

Hello, I am looking for freshly felled tree trunks or branches within 15 miles of Eynsham, Oxfordshire. I would be willing to pay either a daily/monthly access charge to remove this wood or pay for the wood itself if it its removal can be done in a day. I am particularly interested to hear from farmers or large landowner but I would also welcome responses from homeowners. Theo

  14. Hello, I am looking for any felled trunks and branches that have been left in Oxfordshire or the surrounding counties area, aren't too rotten and whose landowner wouldn't mind me operating on their land. If you know of any wood that meet this criteria, please let me know. I would be willing to pay an access charge for the wood depending on wood quantity, quality and site logistics. Regards, Theo
  15. Check the wait limits on your vehicle. I almost fill two 0.9cm cubed bags when I go to woodland but don't fill the second bag up completely as they both must weigh about 450kg-500kg as wet weight and the weight limit is 550kg in my Mazda estate. Don't know if the weight includes the driver so that is why I don't completely fill the second bag.
  16. Have you any photos you could post of the wood? I may be interested if there is enough of it and it is relatively dry.
  17. Is this wood you have or are you looking for a haulier to transport timber from a site to a processing plant? I am looking for timber in the Oxfordshire area but I would be using it for firewood.
  18. Really interested to hear you are working with horses to extract the wood rather than machinery. It would definitely be worth seeing how much the horses could drag and how far they could drag wood for to understand the horses capabilities and also the financial side. Also consider the gradient that the horses are working on if there is any. How many hours of work would you be offering? I have a small battery chainsaw but it should be enough for 300mm diameter trees.
  19. Yeah I might try that. Hopefully they're just as helpful in the Scottish Borders as they are in Oxfordshire.
  20. Thanks for your advice Will C. I have contacted a few local tree surgeons, so hopefully they will reply.
  21. Hi Doug, The firewood is for personal use and for my mum who relies on firewood to some extent. I have set up a tip site now. However, I know that some Tree Surgeons leave the wood where they've sawn it,so I thought I would pose the question on here just in case a Tree Surgeon had left wood anywhere in Oxfordshire. Regards, Theo
  22. Hello, If anyone has any recently felled trees that have been left decomposing on flora in the Oxfordshire area please let me know. These felled trees should be less than a year old (nothing too rotten), less than 80cm in diameter and accessible by wheelbarrow. I would be willing to pay a small fee of around £5-£20 per month as a site access fee (depending on wood availability, wood species and distance at your site) and would be very quiet with my battery chainsaw and axe. I would especially like to hear from farmers or anyone with small patches of woodland. It goes without saying that you must be the landowner to grant me permission to the wood site. Regards, Theo
  23. I will brush the logs with a wire brush when I burn them and the logs without the mould I will sell to neighbours. Yes horse chestnut isn't the best firewood understood but it is far better providing heat for humans than rotting in a woodland and feeding the woodlice. It is on pallets and covered which should keep mould at bay. Thanks for the advice.
