In all honesty Harvey I was so pleased to of been warmly welcomed and offered a job I completely forgot to ask so it was not a daft comment you made x I am not starting until after Christmas as I am on call all through the festivities. I will call him tomorrow and that would definitely take the pressure off 😁 bless you

Hey don’t let Winston Churchill hear you talking like that Khriss 😮 he would be turning in his grave. Our tommies did their best and this generation spends most of their lives online killing anything that moves so I’m sure they would volunteer in their masses. God help them if they see the reality of war. I must admit when Donald trump took office I felt very concerned because he spreads hate and could of easily started world war three ☹️

That does not surprise me Khriss and the kit is compulsory to wear. They don’t take into account the amount of exercise and sweating a soldier does. Luckily once I got through training I was allowed to buy my own boots as long as they are black and you can wash the kit to death to soften it so and sew patches over the stitching. Where there is a Will there is a way 🙂 x

Gosh that’s very true !!! We had such rubbish boots issued to us when we were in military training a d because you do not know any better your feet pour with blood and are covered in blisters ☹️ We had to wrap them tightly to help with the pain. In fact worse still the new khaki shirts we wore looked smart but we were marching for hours and hours during training and the stitching cut away the skin under your arms 🤦🏻♀️ Agony

Ah ok I do have steel toe cap boots too which I wear for work sometimes so hopefully I will be allowed to wear them 🙂 may be a good idea when I do buy chainsaw boots to break them in a few days during the week in my current job. Thanks Doug 👍🏻

That’s a good question 😁 I do have two pairs of brashers that are waterproof and really comfortable 🤔 I wonder if I could wear those for now ?

That’s really kind Alex x Thankyou so much for the advice 🙂 I’m really looking forward to shopping for my PPE as sad as that sounds 😬 I have been told my title will be BRANCH DRAGGER 😂😂😂 at least until I have any skills !!! I have been called worse. I am a little bit of a perfectionist so at least I will keep the site as clean as possible like outdoor housework, I’m hugely interested in the different cuts you all do and how you decide to take trees down as in where on earth do you start ? I have seen some post where the tree is above glass conservatory’s or has grown around power lines ! I could go on 🙂 it’s definitely dangerous and skilled work. Thanks again Alex x

Awww thank you Dan 🥰 I’m a proud person and stubbornly so. I did say this to my new boss about not wanting a wage yet but he said the same as you so I will genuinely give him 110 percent and I can put the wages towards PPE and biscuits for the boys 🙂 It is a shame I did not live on the mainland then I could work with different companies because I assume you all have your own preferred way of doing things 😬 there is a lot of hate amongst business and who is good or bad.
