  1. Yeah I've never had any problems with racism either despite my exotic name. I live between Penrith and Kendal, have done some work in Carlisle recently so about 40 minutes commute is doable. I'll take what I can get really as the student life has left me relying on savings. Outreach has never been my strong suit but I'm a solid worker when set to task. I only moved to the lakes a year ago so all my old contacts are all but useless up here, managed to make a few I'd consider friends and they've helped me get the odd day here and there. I can do full weeks but I only really need a couple of days through the week or even weekends, got a really flexible schedule right now and thought more people would be eager to exploit that to cover holidays or weekend shifts or whatever. Will just have to keep up the search. Thanks for all the replies. Glad we've all had a bit of a laugh.
  2. That's hilarious, I know tree guys are a stubborn bunch. I did think that people seeing "Hakeem" would put people off. What you're saying is that I should change my name to John Smith? 👍 I promise I didn't migrate to the UK in the back of a lorry. 😂
  3. Lots of views but no replies unfortunately. Have been told it's pretty quiet out there atm. If anyone's interested ring me: 07810552897 or email: [email protected]. Need something to fill my time as I have kit sitting idle. Cheers.
  4. I'm studying at uni, off for the holidays until September and looking for some tree work on a self employed basis. I have relevant qualifications and 4 years experience. Own kit and saws (no rigging kit but have the ticket) can provide own fuel. £150 on the ground and £170 climbing. Will be able to climb by 27th June after my kit is inspected. Spent most of my time doing utility arb and railways and I'm a bit rusty having not climbed in a year or so.
