  1. Its the most fun ive ever had working. haha. If you are ever around inverness give me a shout if i have a log big enough you can have a shot. Its shockingly fast in the cut to what i thought it would be. Just fu*ks off down the log no bogging at 2m across. Chain runs slack fast. You can see deep scores from that.
  2. Recently bought the 84" granberg with 98" gb bar from chainsawbarsuk. Its a animal a MS880 each end. Im impressed it fair goes in a 2m wide cut. Hyper skip works great 1st time using it. Here is some photos of its 1st job last week. im phoneless at the moment but will have better photos when up and running. The stem had rot but still some beautiful monsters to be had from it. No machine to lift the slabs onsite made it a hell of a task but we were fit for it, just. haha. Excuse Ali's face still trying to figure out what he was going through at that moment. ??. All in all the mill kit is brilliant highly recommend. Get spare chain at the same time lesson learnt. haha
  3. F**k it. I will get a 3rd 880. The deal I’m being offered is not much more cost than a 661c with 36” from f r jones. The 880’s are with 36” bars. Only catch is I have to buy 2 or more saws to get the deal. So need to tell him what my 2nd saw is when I collect the 880. I will have a like new 42” lopro gb bar for sale to fit a 660 2 stihl ripping chains and possibly a brand new 36” Oregon bar with 1 chain(bought on Saturday) if anyone is interested. I might sell the 660 too.
  4. That’s what I’m planning stubby but not sure if my older used 1 will work in tandem with a new 1? Might sell the old 1 later in the summer and get another new if they won’t work together. I’m really tempted with the 661 my 660 has been getting expensive the past few months. I’d like to retire it now everything on it is new genuine and just use it for firewood before the mill claims it again.
  5. Hi, I was at my dealer on Friday to pick up my 660. After hearing me complain of the money pit it’s been the past few months. He offered me a 880 and a 661 or 2nd 880 with lots of discount. Is the 661 a better milling machine than the 660? I bought the 880 as I couldn’t say no on price. And seriously tempted on the 661 with the price. I already have a 880 and don’t know what I’d do with 3. The 661 will be running a 42” lopro set up max 36” bar most of the time.
  6. Hells teeth your hardy. Don’t think I’d manage a mile in kit. Good luck man.
  7. I’ll send you over my number. If you’re ever about give me message. What diameter is ideal?
  8. I’m up Inverness if you’re ever up this way with your trailer give me a shout. I get beech a fair bit.
  9. Very acceptable price. I just need to get 72” mill and bar set up. 2nd hand or new. And a 48”mill 52”bar. I’m going to try the solid nose out on a bit of ash 600mm-830mm 3”slab. I have 1 good slab to get before I hit the back. Then some 28” elm.
  10. Finally got the MS880 today. After I bought it the guy calls up the Sunday after saying he can’t start it. I ended up taking the gamble agreed a reduced price of £280 delivered worth it even if i have to put a new piston and barrel in. 3rd pull out off the packing and it goes like f**k. I don’t think he knew how to start it properly plus the decamp was stuck down. Phoned stihl it’s a 2016 ms880 serial numbers come back a clean saw. Look into the bore. Doesn’t look like it’s been abused. I got a good running 2016 MS880 with 48” bar and chain for £280. I’ve never been this lucky ?
  11. £454.44 I’ll be checking out the serial number at my dealer today. Can’t wait to get it on the mill.
  12. Hi Mark thanks for the offer. I’ve looked at 076 cool saws. But I’d end up getting a bigger saw anyway it’s my mentality. Haha.
