I buy from genpower for my Hyundai who is the uk dealer. Cheap but don’t last very long at all. Green mech one are more expensive but probably better quality and harder wearing. I doubt they fit other machines

thanks for the tip stewmo (I'm going to need some since I accidentally chucked my silky through it......)

  2. Please can an I as those of you who are running the lower budget Chinese made chippers a question? (such as Rock machinery/sinolink/crytec/lumag/hyundai machines)

what do you do for spare blades? or are they a close enough copy of the CS100 to use those blades?

    many thanks

  3. peds - thanks you for reporting back - a lot of the stuff I would need to chip is actually hawthorn, so you have done me a huge favour - is it the shape of the hawthorn that makes it such a problem or the "hardness"/texture of it?

Its a shame, because we really could have done with the mulch for our veg patch!

    thanks again, Andy

  4. Thanks for the info Peds - sounds as though you're using it in a similar way/intensity to what I'm planning - not really "commercial" scale use but I've got quite a bit of my own stuff to do and wanted to use it to mulch around the veg patch, I'm not often going to be moving it that far, so I might just give one a go

    thanks again, Andy

  5. Hello and happy new year to you all.

Later in the year I'm hoping to remove ivy from a hedgerow that's become swamped in order to replant with hawthorn.

My plan was to cut and stump treat the thickest of the ivy stalks/trunks with glyphosphate but Ive heard a few reports of the glyphosate exuding from the roots of the ivy and killing the trees that the ivy was growing on - there are quite a few field maple and ash trees in with the hedge that I don't want to kill.

Am I worrying about nowt or is there a different stump treatment that I can use?

    many thanks chaps

  6. Morning to all, I'm be grateful for some advice on this oak please.

As you can see from the picture this oak is struggling a bit (quite a lot!)

The farmer is thinking about removing it, I was wondering if it would be worth removing the dead wood in the hope of this improving the tree's health.....or is it time for it to go?

There are several healthy trees nearby but the area around this one's trunk is often waterlogged, I think the water troughs at its base leak - I was wondering if this could be the causeIMG_3267.thumb.JPG.3fe428b4d065c51342e33fe0046c212b.JPGIMG_3254.thumb.JPG.73989e7c478e988662928dff1a7c5238.JPG

Many thanks in advance for any advice
