  1. Proper happy i found this thread, my confidence took a wee knock today while working in a crack willow. On the way up i was taking a few pesky branches off and noticed the branches gave out as soon as the silky took a few bites, i knew the tree was relitively fragile as the name suggests but add this to the excessive wind that was kicking up and it was proper squeaky bum time. I just couldnt get my mind off of the possibillity of my anchor point failing. I only started climbing last year so im hoping confidence will grow with experience...hopefully!
  2. I'm studying forestry and arboriculture at hadlow college in kent, and I want to gain some experience to help me progress in my course and gain some working knowledge for when I move into the industry when my course is complete. I am working towards chainsaw tickets and climbing tickets.

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
