I really like the size and weight when out cutting. Got a lot of felling this year to come up ands the 572 is just a bit big and numb and anything smaller will mean carrying 2 saws. Having the 361 running well would just be perfect. Not to mention the cost of new saws at the moment ! Ive just dropped it with a Lad today but it’s a 3month lead time so lets wait and see. It’s having the works. Proper rebuild with all the mods including porting and a full wrap and foam stack air filter. Fingers crossed, but yes it is going to cost some money… but less than a new saw and should cut better i hope.

Hi all, I have an old 361 that’s been amazing but it’s at the point now where it’s hard to start and doesn’t like to run for too long. I’ve spent some money on it at local fixers getting the usual treatment but now its just too much of a problem to work with. I’m wanting to get it fully rebuilt with some real beans put into it along with a full wrap handle. I’m in the North Yorkshire area, can anyone recommend someone within travelling distance that can rebuild this little beauty and tune it up/ get the most out of it? Many thanks !

I know a couple lads quoted for it also similar to me and more. The actual tree owner is a bit of a red flag for paying and other stuff. The area its in is a communal kind of setup. With the plan of insurance covering costs. The tree owner will only be interested in the cheapest quote as its not in his land anymore and that isn't his building or wall. He was told to take the tree down a year ago by the council

It's way bigger than it looks on the pictures. There is a full day in logging if it's metal free and that would be without tidying the mountains of saw dust. The brash would have to be taken back through the knocked down building to burn in the garden the tree came from. I'd say 3 days for 2 guys to pile it up leaving the area tidy and the timber all at a size that it can be lifted by hand Another big problem is the building and wall will fall down around you as your cutting so no way insurance will cover you and a big risk

I would love nothing more than to pull up a garden chair and watch the rodeo ! Sadly I know they havnt missed off a zero. I did a job in the past of 1 day per tree and there standard pricing was £100 per tree. The customer just said no that's too cheap and worrying. I'd of had 1 day with 2 other tree lads and then just a couple more labourers then a 2nd day with two of us. I could of gone higher cost wise realistically

Sharing for everyone's amusement. I'm honestly still laughing at this. This morning I was undercut by the most astronomical amount. Storm season is upon us and a TPO horse Chestnut fell landing through an outhouse and a historical wall. Let me paint the scene.... its land locked. There is no access. The drag is down a Hill, over a footpath, chucked over the fence to a rough banking then scramble up to a driveway. The tree sat across two gardens Monster tree.... looking at a 661 with a 4ft bar and still wouldn't reach through it all. The tree is suspended in the air sat in the half collapsed building and on the wall, both will collapse further during the works. Not to mention potential asbestos on the building next along which has a couple of damage sections to the roof. I quoted to remove brash, dig out the speared branches and cut the timber and leave stacked. Not to mention cutting in a half collapsed building. Great. My quote was 3k ... fair to cover many hands to carry and 2/3 days of work, not super cheap but fair given the danger/ risk. This mornings message was that they had a quote for £350 It would hardly cover fuel and oil, never mind the 5 staff per day and equipment ! Just mind blowing 😂😂 How do people out there get by like that?! 2nd time this company has done the most ridiculous quote against one of mine, last time the owner was too concerned and went with us..this time the cheapest job wins! And they are welcome to it. 20230112_134909.mp4

I have a 3 stage Hydraulic Ram on my tipping body. It goes up fine no problem, never struggles, on the way down sometimes the 2nd stage doesn't fully go down before the final section does, what happens then is when it gets to the last 1foot or so, the whole thing just drops like there's no pressure at all. Sometimes I end up going up and down about 6 times before if finally does it properly to avoid the drop Any ideas?

I'm on the hunt for a 13" bar for my 201t. Any one know of one that will fit? I love the 12" setup at it cuts like a demon! But it is just a tad short, the 14" I personally think looses a lot of power, really changes the gearing but obviously handy for the bigger timber when your almost considering a bigger saw up the tree... For me id rather just get the 550xp up. So my thoughts are how perfect would a 13" setup be! Geared well with almost the power of a 12" and giving you that bit more reach before a bigger saw.
-
Just after a good light vari track, won't have a need to tilt. The A530 is a good one though
-
Bit too heavy are the safe tracks. I've always found with a standard chipper they will get anywhere if you point em straight down! But you are right, amazing bit of kit and ability, just a lot of kit for me to justify over or standard vari track
-
I know there's an old post on this but thought I'd get an up to date idea from people as things have changed since in industry! I am in need of a chipper and with the jobs I am getting in, I am finding the use for a tracked is equal to towed. So I think it's best to go tracked to do it all. What is the best small (by small I mean lightest most narrow) track chipper going? I don't need no tree eating 6ton monster. Firewood my customers keep or goes to the yard and I like to make the most of it down to smaller logs. Pros/ cons/ experience anything any one knows is great info to make my choice. I've used the Jensen 6" and it's great apart from the rust! And I like the greenmech towed 6" but havnt used the tracked. Forst I hear good and bad things about but no experience Help!
