  4. Im living In Wexford South East of Ireland, I would not have any problem moving over to the UK at at all if the opportunity came along.

  6. Thats the plan anywy pal. Ive rang a few people all there looking for is experienced climbers nobody has an opening for someone starting out in the business. Im thinking about going over to England/Wales/Scotland or anywhere in europe that would take me on and train me up. Ive really got addicted to the work its a lot of fun especially sawing its great.

Hello thanks for the reply, I havnt looked into it that much, the main man that does the bucket and mewp work was doing it for a while and was explaining that most the time your in on peoples land/ houses that dont want you there at all. But I wouldnt really care about that if I was climbing/mewp cutting because thats what im really interested in.
  8. Hes very old school set in his ways, he has sorted other lads large trees but excluded me so im going to sort it all out myself.
  9. He has no interest in training me up so im funding the whole lot myself to try get into a different place.
  10. I was thinking getting the climbing course done before buying climbing gear would be better maybe its not? A climber has offered to show me how to climb on weekends. Maybe getting the climbing ticket before the large trees would be a better idea? Im not really that sure.
  11. Hello Im a 22 year old from Ireland thats seriously interested in Tree surgery, currently working for a company on the ground blocking timber and chipping. Looking to get into climbing ticket and Large trees this year. Just wondering when trying to get into a different company would I be asking them have they openings for apprenticeships or groundsman/trainee climber? Also wondering best way to get into cutting out of hoist/mewps? Have learnt a lot from watching the lads I work with but we barely have a climber its mainly all teleporter/hoist work thats done with very experienced men so theres not much room for getting to learn and do that type of work. All advice welcome. Thanks .
  12. The smock is nice to work in ive had mine a year now it can take a lot of abuse but when its wet its wet for the day.

  14. All this is great info lads thanks a lot. Is there much of difference between the kind of spikes there is or are they mainly the same?
  15. Alright thats great just wondering about the mechanical friction devices is that a must have or are they for more experienced climbers? Thanks
