Iv been doing some chainsaw manouvres so to speak for a while as I'm a carpenter I built a porch for a pub out of oak beams with my circular saw and a hired chain mortiser and couldn't help thinking my chainsaws would have been just as good. I'm also looking at getting into carving what would you guys suggest to get started bearing in mind my chainsaws are an 038. And a ms 660

  10. Hi chaps new to this as I said in another thread if got a stihl 660 and an 0 38 I'm just getting into carving milling and log building and wondered what saw you use for carving as my other two are way to big cheers
  11. Hi chaps I've recently started making my own timber from logs I've been told to stay away from rip chains !!! I've herd stories of stitches and missing digits. Are they really as deadly as I've been told or is it people miss using them getting bitten. I've only recently started using the chainsaw for planking so any tips or words of warning are welcome cheers
