Tyme Cub is a great litlle machine, only issue with it is the thread is metric so non-standard but you can a record SC4 chuck with the correct insert to fit. This was my Cub Think I paid £80 with a few tools. Then get a full face shield and some books, biggest hurdle will be sharpening. 6" grinder and a couple of jigs is basic stuff.

Very desirable, shame your so far away. Even the limbs would interest a wood turner, shame your so far away It does crack very quickly so the ends need to be sealed ASAP

Yeah I go the deluxe, I will sharpen all my chisels and plane irons as well so it'll end up doing quite a bit. Its a big investment, if you can make do with a grinder with a white wheel and have the time to mess with jigs and tweaking angles ect then its not going to appeal. For me people were saying get CBN wheels, there £100 each then you need a good grinder and still need the jigs. It all adds up and it still needs time to set up and perfect. Everything on the Proedge is set, just use the 60 grit to get your tool where it should be then use 120 to get the edge. I can spend more time turning and less time sharpening, this mean a lot to me as I only get 6 or 7 hours a week free time

Well Love the pro edge, reshaped all my tools using the 60 grit ceramic and got a great edge with the 120 ceramic. Same great edge all the time. Yes it cost a lot but I spent almost on grinders and jigs

yeah will do, it arrives tomorrow I bit the bullet as I have limited time in the garage and was spending more time messing with jigs than turning, fingers crossed its good

I've just gone for the sorby Proedge, expensive but supposedly the best. I've been trying with grinders and jigs for a year or so and never been happy with the cutting edge. It's also great for normal chisels too and plane irons so I'll finally be referbing all my old planes I have accumulated lol

Hi, I'm looking to get a chainsaw for cutting up logs for bowl blanks for turning, I really want something dependable and well built but as always I'm on a budget Looking to get some trousers, boots, helmet as well as some training I don't have much left for the actual saw I had been looking at getting a used saw but as I don't know much about them yet I really don't want to get stung I've come across the Husqvarna 236 which looks like it might do the job or would the equivalent Sthil be better or something else ? Hi, Hoping someone can help I'm looking for freshly felled timber in Manchester for wood turning that I can season myself, I've tried a couple of local surgeons but they haven't bothered calling me back I assume its due to not wanting loads. I don't need huge quantities but I am looking for a regular supply and different species would be great. Obviously willing to pay Jim
