Hi all, I am in goostrey near Holmes chapel and I am after any timber for burning at home! I’m not fussed on what it is, it all burns ! Thanks all!

I had a wagon and drag delivery of seasoned larch and spruce in 5m lengths last month. Load was full to the bolster tops and was pretty light (21t)
I got 95 bags (90x90x90cm) out of it Half processed to 8 inch and the other half to 16 inch. As good a result from a load as I've had. Previous best was 82 bags, but stuff was a bit heavier and not to bolster tops
How much a tonne did you pay for that? And how much do you sell a bag at? Good going getting 95 bags! -
I'm sure it's probably been covered before but how many builders bags or cubic meters of firewood would you get from a wagon and drag full of timber?

Where are you based fella ?
I live in Goostrey near Holmes chapel mate -
Does anyone from the Cheshire area want rid of timber? All species taken just to burn at home! Cheers, luke.

At work we sell 1m3 seasoned hardwood at £80 and 2m3 at £145 so somewhere between there i would imagine from what other people on here say it varies throughout the country on prices. What wood is it?

No probs. For free or for money?
What ever really! If someone offered it free I'd still give them some beer money! It's just for at home to burn so I thought If I could help someone get rid of it if it's a nucence it would be good for me haha! Have you got something in mind?

Anyone wanting to get rid of timber off of jobs around Cheshire area? Cheers
-
Do you mean a small splitter or one for over size timber?
Assuming you mean a small one you could get a bit of work if you've got a chainsaw and can turn a tree into firewood for someone.
Bigger ones I think would be hard to pay off unless you get a long one then you could try and make oak stakes if you could get suitable wood and there could be some money in that.
Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes sorry I meant small splitter more for houses than company's and maybe some my self to sell! But I like the idea of the oak stakes!

Hi all,
Is there a demand for log splitter hire or log splitter and man? Anyone do it or thinking of it? Any advise would be great thanks because it would be a big investment at 19 haha! I'm not expecting there to be 1000's in it or constant work I'm just thinking as a weekend thing or the actual hire any day it's required!
Cheers:)

yeah so from what you've all said really its not worth buying the kit thinking your going to make thousands off it alone. its more of a if you've got the kit already advertise it and take what work you can get sort of thing.

Over 200 tons a year but wood is a sideline for the winter months also clear roads for the council and do my digger work landscaping too

£70 think it works out at 1.2 cube, need to reboard it this year but can't complain with the amount of stuff it's moved
Oh bloody hell so it's paid its self off then! It didn't look bad condition to be honset! Got your money's worth out of it!

Think the trailer cost me £200 about 4 years ago, is nicely balanced too so if it's tight access I can unhitch it and push it in fully loaded with logs, only downside is can't see it behind the discovery, have pulled it with cars and escort van before with no problems 👍
That's a winner init! And yeah just an oversize wheel barrow haha!! Just out of interest how much do you charge for a load that size?

Hi all, I’m after timber that I can split and burn for my house. I’m based in goostrey, Cheshire. Hardwood or softwood is good for me! Thank you.
