  3. I would appreciate any observations you have on the Yew shown in the photos. I suspect Phytophthora, I checked for staining in the bark cambium but appears inconclusive This year’s extension growth has reasonable vigour and bronzing occurs on older, wood, growth. Lower foliage around the bole is lush/good, top half is affected. the surface around the tree is not unduly wet, not checked the water table. There is a fowl water pipe within a few metres of the trunk but I do not think this is significant. Any thoughts welcome Cheers David Thornber
