Looking for tree work for weekends as currently work full time for a company up here 5 days a week I've got my cs38/39/30/31 have my own climbing kit for rescue have all my own ppe etc have 2/3 years experience on the ground don't have a licence but stay in the centre of town happy to be on a self employed basis any questions etc call Iain on 07449224762 cheers

hi does anyone have the theory course notes for I can only find my cs 38 course notes and have my cs39 test on Monday I know most of the theiry was just for a quick refresh before the exam

I'm a 21 year old groundsman know all ground operations including rigging have my cross cutting and felling and aerial rescue need work desperately to pay for some tickets no licence can get transport if local will work for £55 a day reason being tickets have been booked call Iain on 07450521903

I'm 21 years old self employed with cross cutting felling and climbing and rescue have been in the industry for a year and a half sub out to a few big companies when work is available looking for more stable work though. Know about rigging chipping and all other aspects of ground operations. No license can get transport to a yard if near by. Will do a weeks trial to prove I'm worth the time. I'm 21 years old currently work for two well known companies I have experience in felling rigging and all basic ground operations do not have my own licence but will be able to a range transport depending on the area I have my cs30 cs31 cs38 and I'm getting my cs39 on the 17th of this month. Thanks mate, ill try to remember that next time I've got 2 years experience my basic tree felling and cross cuting also getting my climbing tickets next month along with my driving licence hopefully

What is the going rate for groundsman I do subcontracting and priced myself at £60 per day is this about average I've still got things like tax insurance tools and everything to pay off? I don't know how people could live off this if they have there own house ect have I priced myself to low?

I am stay in on site and you can't get any large forestry machines on site because it is a tiny island up in the highlands

Hi I'm 20 years old got my basic felling and cross cutting. Got previous experience with tree work and landscaping worked in the industry for about 2 years. Looking to get my climbing tickets within the next two months depending on space. Don't currently have a licence but I am currently learning. I am a 20 year old self employed groundsman who has experience in landscaping and gardening. I have my basic cross cutting and felling. I am happy to work anywhere in the uk. Aiming to become a fully qualified climber by the end of next year. I have worked in a range of different places from down in Sussex to stornaway. I have all my own ppe and chainsaws. Happy to work a week for nothing to prove myself provided it is within stirlingshire area.

I've done a small amount of forestry but nowhere near this size or by myself. To be honest i think I'm biting off more than i can chew

Honestly I'm not sure haha as far as I know what's happening is I'm getting subcontracted in to Fell sned and stack then someone else is getting subcontracted to collect and process all the logs after me as far as I'm aware a licence is in place but I've not even saw the job as I work all over the uk the job is based in the highlands and I'm down at the bottom of England right now. All sizes have been given to me through the phone so I haven't been able to asses it for myself as of yet.

I have just started up myself and I have been offered a reasonable forest of about 1500 trees to take down about 60 to 80 foot each. I am only really experienced in tree surgery on a small scale like gardens and such. What would be the best way to price this at? What would be the best saw for the job is an ms 660 a bit overkill?

Thanks for your feedback that's one of my main concerns is long term most sthil and husqvarna engine's are easy enough to fix with the right knowledge but because it is electric batteries will die if the is an engine problem you will probably need a whole new machine. I will look a little more into it before I invest and hopefully put a few reviews up for other members because it is quite a dark area I've not really seen much about them. Regards, Iain Duncan.
