  1. I've got Nathan to thank for encouraging me into srt. Really enjoyed a rec climb with him before he left, and he came across as talented and passionate about what he does. Shame people feel the need to discredit others publicly.

  2. Not thought about selling them, but yeah I could fine tune the layout a bit and get quotes for waterproof cards to be printed.

It's too much of a faff to print & laminate lots at home.

It would be good to know various chainsaw trouser pocket sizes.... the ones I've printed for myself are about 9cm x 12cm and easily fit in the Stein pocket.

    cheers, steve

That'd fit the pfanners.. Seriously if you do consider making a few, keep us updated. Cheers!

  3. Redwood have never claimed there wasn't other dealers/importers and they have nothing to gain implying they are a dealer/importer if they no longer are as they won't have supply to back it up!!

It would appear that some members of the 'dealer network' are still concerned that Redwood's reputation out shines there ability to supply confidence to customers their local area !!

Exactly my point to GA Groundcare. knowing the Redwood team personally, I don't believe for a minute they would try to make anything up or mislead anyone.

  4. I wonder if a quick release mechanism for the battery would work, like a bike saddle. If it took you a matter of a minute to pop bonnet, place battery and close up terminals, would that be acceptable and tolerable over time. Admittedly this wouldn't be feasible at every time you turn engine off too go the shop etc, but overnight it may work. The next step would be that if you identify that someone has been in van, another plan would be needed, but for the first attempt it may deter. If they have to pop bonnet, then do key process etc it adds more time involved in theft. Whilst its understandable that the time taken to do such things in the morning will consume time and consequently money a period of a few years this would result in equating to the same cost of excess etc, possibly.

    Just a thought like folks.

    Any opinion?

I had quick release battery terminals on my mini pickup.. So yes, they are available for peanuts. Good shout JB.

  5. Haha!

I conducted an experiment a couple of years back where I deliberately cut my line above my hitch on SRT and Ddrt.

I died in EXACTLY the same time both times!

Thanks for your selfless sacrifice, not once, but twice, to ensure others safety in this terribly confusing subject.

  6. Don't worry about it Bush, most people on here are glad to answer any questions you have, even if they may have been asked before. On the glove front, have they told you specifically that you have to wear them? I didn't for mine.

  7. I thought it didnt matter if using the handbrake. i've never had one roll off on me. That said i also thought that the handbrake only brakes, say the rear most axle on a twin axle trailer, so if the rear axle is off the ground, and the handbrake is on. She'll go bye bye! I could be wrong (Often am)

The handbrake operates all four brakesets on a double axle trailer. Always. :-)

  8. I have always used trailers, parked braked facing uphill, and in 30 years never had a braking ptoblem.

The auto-reverse braking system that works when reversing a traiker, to prevent braked coming on is totally different. If the handbrake is applied, the brakes should be on.

This is correct. The problem could be worn or faulty brakes, or too much slack in the brake rod, very easily sorted.

  9. I always carry my phone for that reason but...

When you phone 999 and ask for an ambulance, they only access your address via the post code. Not sure of the post code of the middle of say Kielder forest but it worries me as to how they would ever get to you. Anybody any experience?

Where I work we are told to call 112 in the event of an emergency as your location can be found using your mobile. Don't know if this is the case as we've never yet needed to call, touch wood. (taps head)... Can anyone confirm this?
