This is a Timberwolf 150 we did including the Hi Viz decals
We also built the truck body prior so colour matching was easy!

We did this one a little while ago now but it was a Vermeer SC222 in need of a second life!
First job was to give it a good steam clean so we could see the machine instead of mud and the remains of trees!
Then It was a total sand blast, replacement of the centre pivot, pin & bushes, cutter wheel & bearings, third wheel, battery, fuel lines, fuel pump.
New coat of paint, new drive belts, clutch, engine and finally decals.
It now has many stumps to grind!!

We recently carried out a inspection of a customers chipper, which has had a hard life thanks to the previous owner who had rolled it at some point!
But it’s been a pretty reliable chipper over the past few years but is in need of some heavy TLC,.
So is it worth it? The chipper being narrow was favoured for rear garden access and the removable hopper also assists in the narrow side passages the engine is good and despite the track width being seized was working fine, so it was the rest of the working bits! Or in the case of some not working!!
First thing was a complete strip down, sand blast & repaint with a epoxy primer followed by a coating of stone chip in the high impact areas and 3 layers of top coat colour
With a lot of time spent fixing little details unseen like the corroded spool eternal indent locator, seized track sliders, dent body panels, twisted chute, deflector pivot & angle rod, stop bar seized pivots, flywheel top cover hinge, rewiring winch including installing a isolator switch,
We moved on to fitting new feed rollers, shafts, bearings, drive gears, flywheel bearings, blades, anvil, radiator mesh screen, drive belts, oils, filters it was starting to look the part!
Then came the decals and now we have a nice chipper recycled and ready to go back to action for a good many years.

just a few points incase others following with the same issues are trying to diagnose
To eliminate the cause being electrical remove the din solenoid valve plug (1st image) check inside plug to insure the fault isn't a broken/loose wire, to do this remove the screw from the centre, undo the gland on the cable entry and with a small screw drive there is a small slot where you can prise the square insert out.
The 3 pins sticking out of the valve coil (2nd image). The coil is bidirectional so connecting the wires can be either way round the third/ middle pin is not used
when connected a audible click/knock should be heard
come failures are either the coil brakes down over heats then swells trapping the valve inside or water gets between the valve and the coil causing the valve to get trapped.
if the vale appears to operate correctly
the 3 leds are on inside the stress control box the fault, link the 2 last wires (far right) paper clip is good for this, if the feed roller still don't work then it will most likely be the wiring between the box and the din plug, if it works then the circuit board has an internal failure!
if this is the case We offer a service exchange service for the stress control or a repair your circuit board but this option does take a little longer
Hope that helps

engine oil change after 1st 50 hours then 200 to 250 hours hydraulic and gear 1000 hours small petrol engines 10 then every 50 hours this is a guide only
Working hours of hydraulic oil will depend on oil type and application!
You will find some manufacturers will state
400 hrs
500 hrs
800hrs
1000hrs
If unknown go for the lowest!! The more often its changed can only be a better thing except got the pocket!

I have never heard of the price fallows splitter, be great if u could put some pics/videos up!
If you go where it says *go advanced* click on it then scroll down and you should find a box where it says *manage attachments* click on there then add pics from whatever device your using.
Price Fallows are a steel fabrication firm who are manufacturers of a range of agricultural machinery and other stuff e.g. Loader Buckets, field rollers, log splitters, fork lift tip skips, cannels boats ect family run business
They happen to be down the road, including time with past employers been dealing with them for 20 years usually helpful..

What is that? Can't make put the make/model.
Works Quad
Skid steer or
4WD 4 wheel steering with diff lock
Good lift height and weight lift!

While important I wouldn't get too caught up about width, as suggested. Nothing against the skid steers, fantastic bits of kit, but make a mess of the ground compared to articulated loaders. The 500 series will comfortably get through a 4ft gap.
I did go for an Avant, for me the reasons being - sturdy ROPS roof increases safety around falling objects. Telescopic boom which greatly increases lifting, loading, pushing, placing ability. Oh, and I like sitting down
There is always these little toys!
Currently in talks with someone now but these maybe the answer for some?
Narrow
4WD
4 wheel steer
Did lock
No digging the lawn up!

A friend sent me this joke intended!
But who many trades would also like to apply these charge rules?

Like in ALL trades, there are some who do actually think they know what they are doing and some who do know what they are doing!
And maintaining that relationship with you local dealer who does is the key to after sales service, internet purchases maybe financially beneficial initially but paying a few more pennies when buying gains you a pdi, a installation, initial maintenance advise and a after sales point of contact for back up when things go wrong (and we all know they will sooner or later!)
Find your local good dealer, help support them and they will support you! Team work wins!

Jensen chipper!
We had a customer who brought their chipper in last week, no feed roller drive?
This being his first chipper and there for thinking along the right tracks there was a hydraulics problem!
Simple job! A quick check confirmed it was the solenoid valve coil! (One of the easiest repairs there is!)
After visiting a number of hydraulic specialist and a few other repair outfits he was told repeatedly he needed a new hydraulic pump and control valve block?? Quoting figures of around £1300-1500
We had the chipper in the workshop replaced the coil gave the chipper a check over and gave the customer some advise on maintenance and use (stress control setting and feed roller speed ect) with a few consumables out of the shop his total visit cost less than £150 just a shame he was based over a 100 miles away...
We also have a customer down the road who says our labour rate is to high!! His local garage only charge £25 per hour!????
Knowledge is expensive labour is cheap!

Redwood/Forst are definitely a force to be reckoned with but little credit is given to the service dealer network which provides that after sales service!!
Redwood maybe the key stone in a special combined team but with out the other stones you have no arch which reaches across the gap where other manufacturers fail.
At the end of the day it's the service dealer standing there with the spanner in his hand keen to get you on your way!

I've heard horror stories about cracks in chassis and engine mounts , anyone else heard of anything like this ?
HORROR stories?
That sounds a bit strong!!
A little bit of metal cracking isn't uncommon on any chipper and if regular maintenance is carried out it should get to be any more than a little crack!
