  1. Thank you Eddy, that's really helpful. I will order the parts now. That must make this one of the shortest threads in Arbtalk history!!
  2. Hello. I have a Stihl 038 Magnum fitted with a Bing 48/101A carburettor. I have read a lot of posts on Arbtalk about problems getting chainsaws to run well when hot and have come to the conclusion that it may be time for a carb rebuild. (I have already changed the plug, checked the ignition coil air gap, replaced the fuel hose and pick up, impulse line and tank vent, so I am not exactly rushing into a carb re-build!) I was just about to order a carb kit from L&S engineers when I noticed that my Stihl 038 parts list gives Bing 48/101C as the carb model and this is what L&S are quoting too. (While I have a Bing 48/101A) So I have 3 questions: 1. What are the significant differences between a Bing 48/101C and Bing/ 48101A. 2. Will a carb kit for a Bing 48/101C fit a ...101/A. 3. As a matter of interest what chainsaw was a Bing 48/101A originally fitted to ie where did my carb come from? Answers to any or all of the questions will be very helpful. Many thanks Andy
  3. OK, glad you got one. By the way, where is Grinkle?
  4. Hi Pete. Did you get sorted? I have just found the broken trigger that I replaced in my scrap bin. If you are in the UK I could post it to you and you could try it out. I have spent a fair bit if time examining the photo of your broken trigger. I agree it has an extra spur at the top of the trigger, but I am not sure that it actually does anything. Anyway feel free to call me 01925 756723 or email me [email protected] and I'll put this trigger in the post for you. Cheers Andy
  5. Well that's a bit of a bummer! Sorry I could not help. It looks like it's ebay or araldite, then. Good luck. Andy
  6. Hi there. Are you in the UK? If so lsengineers.co.uk sell Stihl 038 triggers for £2.25 + VAT plus about £3 + VAT for p&p. I bought one myself a couple of months ago. It arrived 4 days after ordering. The part number is 1118 182 1006 which seems odd because most of the parts on my Stihl 038 start 1119. But the number matches the one on your broken trigger and I have checked it against my parts list. If you are not in the UK then I do not know if a L&S will post it to you. Hope that helps. Andy
