Not needed to tip it out .

Way I see it is .. More profit from work = more

Money to spend at arb show in few weeks time

Roof is made from Alu as it was lighter and easier to take off if we wanna chuck logs in, but tend to leave it at home and just use the wooden boards from the Ramps to get the chipper in on top. As a chip roof!! We fitted ladder rack so it sits on cross bar to head board and then strap It down with racket.

As for weight if we load fully up with chip and logs we can probs get 4.5 ton off a job but its towing is abit slow haha still

Means you can do a whole job with out having to tip took us ages but well thought out little trailer .

haha yeah the auto tailgate has its complications .. doesnt seem to open when i push the imaginary button , but yeah same as tipper in the sense where you dont have to stand about with remote then get back in truck then get back out to lower it etc..

hights the same as the original sides, we just grinded the mesh off and replaces with 2mm sheet galv so its good for hardcore to or aggregate and unlike alu sides they take abit of hammering with out bending or denting, weight wise there is a little more but not enough to worry about. we have got a roof that goes over the front half.. but just gets in the way if you wanna chuck logs on the top so we leave it off most the time.

i built it to get round the weight issue as transits have a 1.5 ton load limit as trailer is a 3.5 ton trailer so if i get pulled then less likely to be over weight unless i fill up to the top with wet chip. plus gives me my truck back after work hours and leave the trailer in the lock up ready for the next day.

plus we fitted wireless remote so you dont have to get out the truck to tip .. just like tipper.

philmypower between two guys you can easy pull it up with a set of alloy quad ramps or on my own i use a 12v quad winch same to lower it out on my own ...

i have a brand new ford ranger with a 3500kg towing weight, but i over loaded the trailer but seemed to tow it ok . few moments under braking i had a wobble other wise the tipper worked perfect was like it was empty couldnt be happier. wouldnt recommend overloading though but good to know if you fill it to the brim it still works and can be towed

reason i asked the quote mainly was I got called to a job the other day to clear up some brush some ladies other half had made after getting his new saw .. sure enough the old .. hack away at everything and then question what to do next haha. Thing is i underquoted but I mean i was just wondering roughly what people aim to charge as then you can pick the bones out of it to work out roughly what most people are after cost etc.. But having spoke to alot of people in the game over the past few days who have said the £540-£600 a day, thing is it not cutting down a tree hence wh i under quoted but its still a days works/use of the chipper etc. but i like the idea above about charge the £120 first hour then work out an hourly rate after that .. good thinking

Il be honest and say i give a quote and most of the time i find i get the job but someone once told me "dont be a busy idiot" so half the time im thinking maybe im charging not enough.. . normally id say for a days work truck, chipper myself and a groundsman £600 for a full day... i mean il stick it out there as my prices are what they are for me to earn a living.. but whats others in this games opionion on that .. sound about right ? or to cheap ?

Ok so I know people are funny about what they charge etc ... but what do most people charge per day for a job.. the roughly going rate for arborist and grounds man? because some jobs i quote on they sem to get cheaper quotes and i think.. how the ... and wtill makea profit

Just a question really, but been getting loads of jobs with bad access ( skinny gates with gardens on a hill etc) looking at getting a tracked honda barrow to shift the logs and stuff up to the truck.. But never used one they are good?

over the years I have worked with a local farm and will do so for many years, but we are growing and in the past i have just burnt the brush on the farm and log up the bigger stuff and sold it for firewood. but i feel i have out grown the little small local farm and since using chippers and bigger trailers i could do with some where local that i can tip chip. I was wondering if there was anywhere near brighton that has a yard you can dump chip that use it? I know all the green waste site but Ideally im looking for someplace where i can tip and clear at the end of a month and someplaces take chip to use. any locals that know where would take chip would be very helpful ??

Normally in my company the way it works is we have at the bottom of our quotation form a " sign here to except the quote for work to be booked in" two copies which one comes to me and one they keep. This means no confusion as its in writing. But in this case id say its hard as nothings signed. BUT... When you went round there to quote on the other work did they show you that the work ud quoted for was being done..? if not then make a site visit and ask to speak to who ever is incharge and say that you can see the works been done after hes excepted your quote and that you have out laid money for materials for that job and most cases you have a cancellation fee of x% of the job.. and see if you can work something out with them that way.. Worth a try to recover some cost. if he argues just remind him of the email / print it out to show him .. Its a legit email to say hes excepted the quote ... hard to argue as nothing signed but worth a shot.. as least they will know not to do it again .

Another option if you want to get your tickets in the industry is Scott Fraser Treework training. You will be able to do them sooner than september plus after you passed he will take you on for days in exchange for knowledge and experience. so for those will very little you will learn ALOT.. best weeks ever when i did mine there ( haha good time) Plus after you have your basic tickets he can teach you more like Pruning courses so you know what , where, when and how to prune in the right ways so you dont go hacking customers trees thinking your "pruning" them haha. check it out here

you canget a tipping version aswell which always helps if you wanna chip into it or put loose stuff in it

id highly recommend a bateson 720, most used one we have and still looks like new.

750kg rating (anyone can tow it), twin axle on flotation tyres.. Flat bed so you can drop the sides to empty ( unlike the ifor p7/pe6). Plus if you get a blow out or over load ( we do 95% of the time) your twin axle so spreads the load and bit safer.

Yeah we use ramps even for two people but if you fitted a quad bike winch in the back of the truck then its an easy 1 man job !!

You can load it up with two people but you won't do it on your own.. But if I take it on my own I tend put it in my ifor p7 (early) and then chip into truck on trailer and either leave it in the back garden if safe while I go empty trailer and come back for it... But two of you and you can just pull it up ramps into pick up bed. Space wise is perfect you close the tailgate and you have 2" between it and the chipper. Perfectly made for it really

The cs100 front stand flips round to clip in the other way allowing you to put the pin towbar pin through to tow .

Big thanks for the advice on this one, Been looking at some of the pics you all posted and by the looks of things il have to get the round to building a lid/roof for the top to deflect the chip back into the trailer. Few tidy little set ups in the pics so will have to get round to making mine better. Iv got a IFOR tipper and borded the sides but lid looks like my best bet to keep it from spraying the truck.

This is our new set up for smaller jobs etc, we managed to chip a largge eucalyptus tree up in just over 2 hours filling our 10ftx5ft tipper trailer. pretty impressed on how good these machines are and means i can take 5 guys in the pick up, chipper and trailer all on one truck.

oh and yeh two guys and a set of aluminium quad ramps is what we use to get it in the back.

Currently just got a new tipping trailer to chip into and was just wondering what people have done to make the ideal chip box as i tend to find it sprays the truck with chipping that bounce out the trailer. thought of getting a roll over cover but what other ideas have people done ?

just purchased a cs100 18hp model ... tell you iv had many towable chippers but went for this as it fits in the back of my pick up allowing me to take the big 13ft tipper trailer behind. but make sure it warms up and it will take good size brash out your hands thats for sure. super happy with mine.
