  4. Hi guys, For those of you's who sell firewood how much do you charge for a 45cm x 60cm net sack of hardwood mixed ? I have a guy 2 miles from me selling them for £3 each is that a good price?

Hi guys, I have often read and been told that alder is a poor firewood so I have always avoided it but a mate of mine handed some In the other night and I can honestly say everything I have read and been told is utter nonsense it burns long and hot with good flames boils the kettle in no time at all and leaves an excellent coal bed. give it a go you will be pleasantly surprised
  6. I think its £120 up my way for pick up load but I think that was for a mix of hardwood and softwood
  7. Not so good seasoning weather over the last few days hardtop do you keep your stacks under cover ?
  8. I am in west lothian but have been working up in perth for the last week had some fine weather for seasoning. What timber have you got stacked ?
  9. I was having a look at a stack of alder and ash I have and could not believe the splits that have appeared over the last week I am in central Scotland and its blowing a gale right now but pretty mild bring it on I say
  10. I have 3 cords stacked on pallets and just keep an eye on the weather if its going to be really wet icover them with goretex and when it dries up I take the covers off seems to work for me
