  2. Cheers guys, as Eddie said, is what is the total weight of that with the head, I to would be towing with a defender so weight would be an issue!
  3. Morning! Just putting the feelers out! Is there much call for a skidsteer forestry mulcher around the midlands for brash clearance etc? Have had to hire one in for a job recently and there doesnt seem to be many people hiring out (well i struggled at locating one) Looking at adding a bit extra to my business and wonderedif it would be worth a stab!? Many/any of you had much call for one? Cheers!
  4. Hi mat, I went there to quote a removal as this is what she had asked on the phone. When I got there I asked her reasoning for it with which she told me how she was instructed the tree was unsafe and needed to be removed. Once I reassured her the tree was in fact perfectly safe an not going to topple she she brought up the topic of 'can you make it a bit smaller then'. Hope that clears it up! There was no pressuring her into having work done rather she asked my advice and what I would do to make it smaller. I think/hope my advice and my work that followed wasn't only best for the tree but aesthetically the best for her aswell.
  5. Cheers again guys. Was pleased with the out come! Customer was pleased and she seems keen for me to go back so hopefully if I remember I will take a picture in the not so distant future to see how it's looking.
  6. Cheers for all the positive comments!
  7. Cheers Paul!
  8. Definately, very hard not to get carried away and remove to much! Wasn't as bad as it seemed though, they had done such a poor job pruning it in the past by the time all the rubbing and dead and stubs that had been left had been removed it was very near finished!
  9. Cheers jake Andrews!
  10. Started 9 And got down at 12.00 got back in the truck just as the rain started!
  11. Had a call to remove a copper beech as an elderly lady was told it was un safe by 2 men in a transit that knocked at her door, luckily she was going out so said they would have to come back another day and she found my number in the local parish mag and asked for a second opinion as the tree was planted by her late husband (it was probably the same 2 that 'pruned' it a few years earlier!) Any way general crown clean and slight reduction to try and tidy it up. Any thing any of you would have done different? Should I removed more/less? Different approach? Not massively experienced on reductions so any advice good or bad is welcome!! Cheers!
  12. Many thanks! im only looking at worst case senario due to it overhanging so many property's and in falling distance of 2 houses. Thank u for your answer though much appreciated!
  13. These are the same pics they have emailed them to me so slightly better quality. any advice greatly appreciated!
  14. thanks any way! Its is poor I know! Its slightly better quality on the paper in front of me but not much! Its all they have sent me for now, Am popping round later today to have a look around and see if there is anything else present. Forgot to mention the is the 2nd year that its has shown itself. 2 years ago 2 fruiting bodies present last year 5 present.
  15. morning! Have a customer with a mature Copper Beech, they have sent me these pictures of a fungus growing from the roots not the best quality I know but they are worried as the tree spans over three properties gardens and is positioned on a very steep bank. I've asked them a few questions about it as the have only just decided to get in touch and its not present atm. *Fungus growing from roots, dark brown on top and near white/cream underneath *located Just at base of tree *No crown Die back present *No Large amounts of dead wood. My initial reaction was Meripilus giganteus??? And would your advice be removal? Your thoughts? Thank you in advance!
  16. Many thanks! I'm sending quote over tomorow. If I get it I will be in touch! Many thanks for your quick relply!
  17. Morning! I'm looking at a job towards Redditch. Roughly 45 conifers all around 60ft+ With 9 to be removed completely and the rest reduced by half. Part of the job is near the road. Within 4 meters at its closest point. It's just as the road changes from 40mph to national speed limit. Will i need any form of traffic management as I don't have chapter 8. (Old man has the old version from about 30years ago which he says is still valid) Also is there any where local that takes logs and chip around the redditch area? Any one know of any big chippers for hire (self drive preferred if possible) around redditch aswell? Roughly 12-18 inch? Thanks in advance!

  19. Cheers Chipper Wallah! Will keep that in mind if I get any work over your way! Thanks again!
  20. Many thanks Wood Cutter! that's 2 mins down the road from me!!
  21. Cheers, I understand that, I've probably worded this a bit wrong, I'm looking to go out on site and work alongside really, I'm confident enough to climb and i work at what I think is a ok rate. I'm happy doing removals but pruning work scares me as I don't want to make a mess! As you said u need to get in with a tree surgeon. Just don't have the luxury of being able to drop work etc as rent and bills.
  22. Hi everyone. I hope your all well! I have a few questions I hope you can help with?! 1. Looking for a bit of experience!? Im currently working full time (not in the industry but family business) and have wanted to get into the industry since school (now 26) , so I have paid for my qualifications so far, cs 30,31,32,38,39,& 40, wood chipper, MEWP ticket, first aid, manual handling & B +E. I have my own gear/ saws and tipper and insurance , currently full time on the spanners but would like to make a go of it subying and then once I have some experience try on my own. Im available most weekends and can get time off in the week if I have a bit of notice. Anyone need a hand?!?! Or want to share some of there knowledge?! I do a bit of work for my self ATM but don't have nowhere near enough work or knowledge to go alone! 2. The few small jobs I do I hire a chipper, is there anywhere round worcester that takes/wants wood chip? Many thanks Andy message me if you have anything!! Cheers again
