Many thanks for all of your comments I think I would probably want to see one or two systems in action to make an informed decision . I wonder if the AA could organise such an event ??

Pretty much a full mix I.e highways tree safety surveys, education sites, parks and as you say B.S. 5837 . Open to cost

Any ideas, there is a similar sized Italian alder next to this tree but this looks nothing like it close up????

That's the closest thing I could come up with but it has snake bark pattern on the trunk (is that usual for buckeye?). I thought I posted another picture showing the bark but it doesn't seem to have loaded. Many thanks for your response.
