Think it's a ct chest ascender

Can't believe that natural selection hasn't caught these guys out before

Nice good job

I've just received my HAAS today but didn't have enough time to set up for tomorrow. I had a little play but ran out of time and the way I was trying wasn't right.
The videos show the set up using a hitch climber and/or rope wrench for SRT or DDRT.
Has anybody got a picture of the set up with a Hitch Hiker.
I never really use lanyard over shoulder and just hoik it up as I go along cos I don't often do big ascents in one go. But I would like to make more effort 😄
Have you tried using a lyon sling as a chest harness mate works really nicely
-
Think it's pretty expensive

They are a major step down, IMO, the 540 has the power, but its made from plasticine, mine is 6 months old, the fuel tank is leaking, the side cover fits poorly, the chain tensioner is poor, the rear av spring is shot and the top handle is folding where the switches and trigger are. Mine also runs poorly, cutting out when hung on the harness and often cutting out for no reason.
OK the the 201 lacks power, but IMO is better built than the 540 (I had a 201 for 6 months or so before it was stolen) I have just bought another 201, I can accommodate the lack of power, adjusting my cutting methods accordingly.
I just need a saw thats predictable and will at least hold together.
Completely agree and Tom I think that tenner is mine it's just a matter of time mate:001_tongue:

Have you got a pic old mill?

I've done a great mod on mine mate. All you need to do is sell it and replace it with a200t. It works great cuts slightly better and most importantly it doesn't disintegrate into a pile of small pieces of plastic
-
It's really really good I agree with rich nice in the hand an low stretch just ordered some more too go with my hitch hiker and hass looking forward to trying it out

11mm runs great through mechanicals

Cheers Marc the questions where open to anyone mate I only aimed it at Ben and dan as they both mentioned not using spikes and to me that is very alien as I've always used them for removals drt. And yeh someone else told me that both pantin and spikes can be used at the same time I just havnt tried it yet
-
Hi dan and Ben do you guys choose to not wear spikes because you favour using a foot ascender instead and also because using redirects means you can gain a much better positioning and therefore don't need them. I too currently only use srt for reductions and sj for removals so any help n this is much appreciated
Cheers luke

Hi luke did you have any luck finding some cougar nicked mine with a brand new silky half way along and can't really justify shipping from states
-
I use two retention rubbers one either side of my sj on a dmm ultra o and rever have any probs
-
+1 for cougar it's epic
-
Have you looked at the hass accent system Marc havnt tried it myself yet but seen a few vids and it looks like the perfect setup for the rope walker the reviews on it seem to be very good too
-
So you would say the Unicender is where it's at then. My only concern was service life, it's a lot of money for something that may only last a year. Hopefully they will bring out a more durable one.
You can get an attachment for the uni called the drum which dramatically increases the life of the uni and I think also enhances the proformance

Hi stubby are they any good for climbing in?
-
might be a bit obvious, but always feed the line back into your cube, putting it on the ground just ends up in a mess twigs and **** getting it all bunched up! took me a while to get in the habit of doing it though!
i have a falteimer and a stein ( pure shite! ) cube,
i think about 6 or so bags of various sizes
have some cheap elderid line maybe, cant remember had it for a bit!
for double bagging, i always attach an extra bag or 2 on just to make sure it will drop back down, can be awful frustrating sometimes!
i love the throwline, guilty of using it sometimes even on small trees where i could easily run up and have my anchor in by the time it would take me to open the throwcube!!
Would you advise against getting a stein cube then nifty
-
Couldn't agree with you mor Arran
-
I had the zz1 and then went on to get the spider jack I personally prefer the sj due to the easy self tailing I use velocity for my short rope as it falls through the sj with no rope weight below. And have blue tongue for my long rope as its easier on the hands in big trees
-
Cheers drew really like the alpine butterfly and pinto anchor

Me too looks smooth
