  1. Yeah that seems to be the way, I've got a good few books already. Are there any particular YouTube vids that stand out as helpful? Thanks
  2. Hello, i'm looking into getting into the chainsaw milling lark! I'm a groundie for a big tree surgery firm and also have my own small tree work business. So lots of access to good wood. I'd like to start milling it up and making tables and benches ect. I have no experience of doing this but with the help of friends in the game and the good old Internet I hope to learn fast. Ideally though I'd like to do some kind of course in basic joinery for such things as tables and benches. But here's the problem, I live on the beautiful isle of Wight and we have nothing like that here, is anyone aware of a course or some kind of training /help nearby? I'd be prepared to travel within reason, but obviously an evening course on the isle of Wight would be perfect but heh. Any help would be great, cheers
  3. Sorry guys, my fault, try this.
  4. I'm exploring cheaper ideas for drying wood. I've seen this talked about on a few places and wondered if anyone on here had tried it. Sounds great but way too good to be true! http://m.youtube.com/index?&desktop_uri=%2F Sure a sunny climate helps, is English summer time enough???
  5. Hello everyone, not used this before so go easy on me. I'm on the isle of Wight, there is no one here with a kiln!!! I was wondering if there is anyone close to the isle on the other side of the water that has space in theirs? I don't have the need for it immediately but am about to buy a sawmill and get busy. Obviously I would pay for the use/service. Any idea or help is much appreciated
